The Legislature's problem with amending the law so that documents of the public's interest are released lies with the strong lobby of law enforcement and county attorneys. Let's remember that we, as constituents, have a First Amendment right to petition our legislators; government does not have a constitutional right to petition itself.

Absolutely, the completed investigation documents should be released. Are you able to file a FOIA request? Transparency - no matter the issue- is always better.
